Throughout the summer there are many craft markets and exhibitions around the towns of Menorca. Here are just a few of the artisans and artists who have recently caught our eye.
We met Magda Triay at the PescArt Exhibition in Es Castell organised by Menorca Preservation. Her tapestries intertwine her commitment to caring for the environment and her art. She uses recycled materials such as fishing nets and thus contributes to cleaning up the seas and oceans. For years she has dedicated herself to furniture restoration and decorative and artistic painting on different objects. She participates in many art and crafts shows and exhibitions and has been running workshops and courses in Menorca and elsewhere for over 20 years. www.magdatriay.com / www.pescartmenorca.org
Yolanda López Segura is another artist working in the PescArt project. Yolanda was displaying her artisan frames that combine three elements: the Zentangle world, discarded fishing nets and Menorcan motifs. The paper frames are filled with fishing nets that can be seen through a small transparent window. yolanda@yotangle.com / www.yotangle.com

Animals are a recurring presence in the works of Albert Boada, starring in scenes designed to evoke emotions and surprise the viewer. He is a self-taught artist with a unique style, not influenced by any specific school or trend. However, he has an admiration for great masters such as Dalí, Rubens, Bougueruau, Antonio López and the figurative artists of the Renaissance. His themes range from landscapes to figures that spark the imagination or challenge reality. https://www.instagram.com/albert_boada_pintor
